Wilderness Wonderfest
The Wilderness Wonderfest is a celebration of creativity, conservation, and community, designed to connect families with the natural world in fun and meaningful ways.
Through hands-on workshops, interactive installations, and guided nature activities, we aim to inspire a lifelong appreciation for the rich biodiversity
of the National Forest.
The Wilderness Wonderfest 2024 celebrated nature, creativity, and conservation with activities that inspired families to connect with the natural world.
Visitors learned about birds by crafting sculptures from recycled materials and creating mini nests to take home.
Biodiversity workshops included making willow pollinator insects, bee baths, and seed bombs, while creative stations like wildflower painting and cloud gazing offered artistic fun.
Highlights included the Blossom & Buzz Show, nature-inspired acoustic music, the Insect Olympics, and a fun run. With picnic areas and stalls adding to the festive atmosphere, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
At its heart was the Willow Bird’s Nest Installation, now a permanent feature at Beacon Hill, serving as an enduring symbol of creativity and conservation. The festival left participants inspired to cherish and protect the natural world.
